I’m documenting my bike trip across the USA.

While the idea to take this “epic” ride goes back to 1977, actually fulfilling this dream required retirement to occur.

That occurred on April 1, 2019 (April Fool’s Day, or 1st day of NY Fishing Season, depending on your perspective). Along with 10 other riders and 2 tour leaders, my cousin Dan and I are riding across the United States from May 12 to July 28 (approximately).

We’ve chosen Adventure Cycling as our touring company, and the ride will be van supported. While Dan and I have done 7-10 day tours over the last 11 years, we’ve never done a tour of this length. I am very excited, but also a little nervous. But, it’s good to get out of your comfort zone.
