Day 15: Byesville, OH to Buckeye Lake, OH (60.2 miles)
Got an early start with the threat of pending thunderstorms and left Byesville by 7:15. Continued on rural roads with rolling hills, passing through Derwent, Claysville, Chandlersville, and Zanesville. Seven of us took refuge in a tractor barn outside of Chandlersville as a strong storm front passed over us. The delay was about 40 minutes. Today was my day to cook, so Steve and I went shopping for food in Zanesville. Never go to the supermarket hungry, as I kept adding extra snacks. After leaving Zanesville, we rode on Ridge Road to US 40. Our stopping point for the night is the KOA Buckeye Lake. BTW, Steve and I made tacos (hard and soft shell), with side salad and apple pie for dessert.
