Day 61: Missoula, MT (0 miles)
Woke up at 5:15am to go fishing on the Clark Fork and Rattlesnake Creek. Limited success on tan Caddis. Laura, from ACA gave me fishing location suggestions, including where Rattlesnake Creek flows into the Clark Fork (behind the Doubletree Hotel) and PEAS Farm in Missoula. Both spots were very good suggestions.
I stopped for coffee and a muffin at Worden’s Deli & Market on Higgins Street. At noon, the group met back at ACA Headquarters for a hot dog and hamburger barbecue in our honor. Tasty food and spirited conversation. After lunch, I walked around town. At 5:00 pm, I met Yo and Ber for a beer at Imagination Brewery, then went to the waterfront to hear live music (Caroline Keys, a local musician). Food trucks for dinner, I had Mexican. Went back to the Clark Fork and caught a 17” brown trout on a tan elk hair Caddis, even as a tuber paddled by! All in all, a terrific non riding day in Missoula.
