Day 1: Williamsburg to Glendale (75 miles)
The ride begins… kickoff from Williamsburg at 8 am, rode to Yorktown beach to dip our rear bike tires in the Atlantic (since we are riding east to west) and then rode back to Williamsburg and on to Glendale. The ride was mostly on the Colonial Parkway and Capital Trail, both very scenic. Tonight, we’re staying at the Willis Methodist Church, which was built in 1803 and served as a hospital during the Civil War, burned down in 1948, and was rebuilt with contributions from Bing Crosby and Winston Churchill.
75 miles down, approx. 3975 miles to go!
