Day 73: Prineville, OR to Sisters, OR (49.8 miles)
Today, Oregon got its personality. By that, I mean, it took on a unique look compared to other states. The multiple majestic mountains in the distance along with the pines and sagebrush are special to Oregon. Regarding today’s ride, it was not as strenuous as the last several days. Leaving the Crook County RV Park in Prineville, we rode on Route 370, the O’Neil Highway, to O’Neil, where we saw a hemp farm, and wondered whether the end product was industrial rope or pot!? Traveling on Smith Rock Way, we visited Smith Rock SP, a rock climber’s haven. Next town was Terrebonne and then on to Sisters, a cool town of 2038. I had a small health scare, as Dan and Gerri were concerned that a small hamstring issue I experienced on Sunday might be more serious. Per their prodding, I drove to Bend it get my leg checked. All tests proved to be negative. Dan and I ate a late dinner in Sisters.
