Hello!

I’m following my lifelong dream to ride my bike across the United States.

This blog will document my trek.

Day 67: Cambridge, ID to Halfway, OR (57.2 miles)

Day 67: Cambridge, ID to Halfway, OR (57.2 miles)

After a great breakfast of huckleberry pancakes and bacon, we left McCall and drove to Cambridge, ID to begin today’s ride. Riding on Route 71, the scenery was colorful with farms and high hills. I saw a display of very old farm equipment along the road. The scenery changed as we reached the Hell’s Canyon area and approached Brownlee Reservoir. At Brownlee Dam, the Snake River began.

We entered Oregon, the 16th and final state! That was an amazing feeling, because months ago, Oregon seemed so far away. Following the Snake, we arrived in Oxbow, then took Route 86 to Halfway. (Apparently, this town is “halfway” between Richland and Cornucopia.) We are staying at the Halfway Motel and RV Park.
