Day 44: Recovery Day in Fort Collins, CO. (0 miles)
Super day in Fort Collins. After breakfast at the hotel, rode to the Solarium Hostel, our destination for tonight. The path there was along the Poudre River/ Spring Creek Trail, which was special because of the scenery (along a trout stream, the Cadre de Poudre River) and the path, which was in great shape).
I then headed to Old Town to check out the area, and watched the USA vs Spain WWC game at the Blind Pig, which opened early for the game. After the USA won 2-1, I went to New Belgium Brewery, Odell’s Brewery, and Equinox Brewery for some tastes of their brews. I enjoyed visiting all three, but New Belgium was my favorite.
A few words about the Solarium Hostel we are staying at this evening: They are clearly bike focused, just like the town, with plenty of biking amenities, but there is also a court yard with amazing plants and a “marijuana approved” tepee in the backyard- only in Colorado, I guess. Frank Moritz, the person who has put together the routes we have been following, met us in town and bought dinner for the group. That was a very nice gesture.
