Day 38: Recovery Day in McCook, NE (0 miles)
After 9 days of riding in a row, we are not riding today, which is a good thing, since it’s raining now and the forecast is for rain for most of the day. Starting the day with a nice breakfast in the lobby, moved on to laundry. Lunch at Mac’s Drive In for a cheeseburger and BBQ sandwich, followed up with a delicious cannoli from the Citta Deli. Next we visited the High Plains Museum, which had many artifacts of McCook, most donated by local people. Lots of stuff in a small space, but a pretty amazing collection. After that, back to the Econolodge to watch Brazil play Italy in the Women’s World Cup (Brazil won 1-0 in an entertaining match). I cleaned my bike, too. Dinner plans include a visit to Loop Brewery and back to Citta Deli for an Italian dinner.
