Day 4: Pohick Bay to Washington DC (34.7 miles)
Fantastic day, beautiful spring weather, great riding; Left 8:15 am, rode 13 miles to Mount Vernon and toured the grounds. Bike path from MV to Arlington Bridge, past Reagan Airport along the Potomac. Crossed river by Lincoln Memorial. Getting to DC hostel on 11th St, took us by Korean, WWII, and Washington Monuments. Total miles today was “only” 34.7 after 3 days of 75+ miles. Everything is relative, I guess. We have our first day off tomorrow to explore and enjoy DC.
