Hello!

I’m following my lifelong dream to ride my bike across the United States.

This blog will document my trek.

Day 7: Brunswick, MD to Hancock, MD (60.6 miles)

Day 7: Brunswick, MD to Hancock, MD (60.6 miles)

Back on the C&O Canal trail. Rode across the Potomac River from Harper’s Ferry, then stopped at Antietam National Park, which was really interesting, as this single day battle was an early turning point in the Civil War. The Confederate army waged a battle above the Mason Dixon Line, trying to get the North to succumb, but was unsuccessful. Five days after the battle the Emancipation Proclamation was released. Visited the towns of Williamsport and Hancock.
