Day 21: Franklin, IN to Cloverdale, IN (56.0 miles)
Had a great stay in Franklin, Indiana. Found a very tasty cannoli on Friday night at the Greek Pizzeria and Tap Room. Clearly, the best cannoli from Indiana. (Their pizza was very good, too, plus they had 3 Floyd’s Zombie Dust on tap!)
Saturday’s ride was excellent, perfect conditions with low 70’s, sunny skies, and rural roads through Indiana farmland. Not many towns visited, only Wilbur and Eminence, before reaching Cloverdale. A highlight of today’s ride was visiting John Wooden’s childhood elementary school, where a plaque showed the famous coach’s principles and ladder of success. I was cook for tonight’s dinner, along with Mike, the leader. We cooked shrimp primavera (shrimp in garlic butter with sautéed vegetables and rigatoni). The meal turned out well.
