Day 19: Liberty, IN to Franklin, IN (69.8 miles)
This morning’s highlight was three very persistent raccoons visiting our campsite at 1 am. One crept in the vestibule of Yolande’s and Bernadette’s tent, another opened my handlebar bag to get a box of raisins without damaging it, and another just stayed around snooping. After lots of yelling and stomping we all got back to sleep. Today’s route went through Dunlapsville, Albion’s, Connersville, Rushville, Homer, Manila, Shelbyville, and Franklin. We rode the Franklin Greenway Trail into Province Park, where we are camping. One of the riders, Peg from Indiana, who was forced to drop out due to injury, came back to see us tonight with a terrific dinner of pulled pork, asparagus, potatoes salad, and pie. Thanks, Peg!
