Hello!

I’m following my lifelong dream to ride my bike across the United States.

This blog will document my trek.

Day 9: Cumberland, MD to Confluence, PA (63.8 miles)

Day 9: Cumberland, MD to Confluence, PA (63.8 miles)

Continued on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) trail, first 23 miles had a 3% grade, going through the Brush and Big Savage Tunnels and Frostburg, before reaching the Mason Dixon Line and the Pennsylvania border. Three miles later we crossed the Eastern Continental Divide (2392’). After that, we passed through Myersdale (great diner!), Garrett, and Confluence. We stayed at the Outflow Campground on the Youghiogheny River.

Great diner in Myersdale. That’s Lloyd, the owner in the middle, who just celebrated 30 years at the diner last week.
