Day 78: Florence, OR to Eugene, OR (0 miles)
Today, a non riding day, we loaded the van with everyone’s bicycles for the drive back to Eugene. First, we stopped in Florence at the Brown Hen for breakfast. The van ride was approximately 90 minutes long. I got dropped off at Bill’s Bicycle Way of Life on Adler Street to have them pack and ship my bike using Bikeflights. The process went smoothly, and my bike is on its way back to New York. The group said goodbye at this point as we began the journey home. Amy and Rachel picked me up, and we headed to Newport on the Oregon coast for some additional sightseeing. We stopped at the Rogue Brewery, Yaquina beach, and Yaquina Head Lighthouse. We’ll be flying back to JFK airport in NYC on Tuesday.
I will pull together some statistics about the trip and my thoughts in a final post.
